Kandy Childress began working with Healthy Kingsport on November 2, 2015 as Executive Director. Kandy holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the University of Tennessee and a master’s degree in English Literature from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. She brings a decade of international business experience to her role at Healthy Kingsport. Her previous job assignments have taken her all over the United States and Europe, but she calls Kingsport “home.”
Community Impact Manager
Dana’s skills and experience have mainly been in higher education, as she most recently served as the Director of Alumni Relations for King University. During her tenure with King, Dana served over 13,000 alumni by managing and coordinating an annual alumni weekend that included volunteer recruitment, marketing, planning, and executing of several events during a single weekend. She holds a Master of Business Administration with specializations in Marketing and Project Management from King University and is a graduate of Leadership Kingsport 2015 class. Dana works directly with the community through an array of events, including the Walk for Wellness Expo. She also manages the 2 Million Mile City Challenge with the goal of Kingsport becoming the first city in the US to log 2 million miles of physical activity as a community.
Community Initiatives Manager
Erica is the newest member of the Healthy Kingsport team and brings with her years of experience in community outreach. Erica’s background comes from higher education, serving as Territory Manager for the East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia area where she promoted the Adult Studies program at King University. Erica has a Bachelor in Business Administration as well as a Bachelor in English from King University. Erica works on building relationships with the community and advocating for Healthy Kingsport’s health and wellness initiatives including Live Sugarfreed, Healthier TN, and tobacco cessation.
